Chelmsford, MA – January 30, 2018 – Building management system and solutions provider Albireo Energy, LLC (“Albireo Energy”) today announced it has been selected to install the system for Alnylam Pharmaceuticals’ (“Alnylam”) new state-of-the-art biopharmaceutical manufacturing facility in Norton, Massachusetts.
Alnylam is leading the translation of RNA interference (RNAi) into a whole new class of innovative medicines with the potential to transform the lives of people afflicted with rare genetic, cardio- metabolic, and hepatic infectious diseases. Based on Nobel Prize-winning science, RNAi therapeutics represent a powerful, clinically validated approach for the treatment of a wide range of severe and debilitating diseases.
Albireo Energy’s team has worked closely with Alnylam to evaluate the necessary system architectures and control strategies required for the facility. The sensitive environment necessary for manufacturing these ground-breaking pharmaceuticals presented a unique challenge. Albireo Energy’s vast experience with industry-best practices resulted in a superlative design for the facility. This included safely controlling temperature, utilizing advanced room pressurization control strategies, and being an industry leader as it pertains to integration, all of which were required to meet the complex project demands.
