Astellas selected Albireo Energy to retrofit an existing location in Westborough, Massachusetts over the incumbent and other national players due to our strong life sciences portfolio. To stay on schedule, two different controls teams – GMP and non-GMP – served the customer. Work also included validating a significant portion of Astellas’ HVAC systems which added an additional layer of complexity.
This improved manufacturing facility supports Astellas’ mission to accelerate regenerative medicine and cell therapy research and development. Enhancements to the production areas also allows for a more efficient supply chain by meeting the demands of commercial production.
