Washington DC Energy Benchmarking

Washington DC Energy Benchmarking

In 2008, Washington DC enacted the Clean and Affordable Energy Act of 2008 (CAEA), which requires some property owners to annually benchmark and report their utility data.

What is Washington DC Energy Benchmarking?

Property owners of non-residential buildings that are larger than 50,000 square feet are required to report all utility data from 2017 by April 1, 2018. The penalties for non-compliance can be substantial, so be sure to report your utility data.
